Event Styles

Seated

Seated events are for those who desire a more structured, traditional, and formal event where servers bring all food and wine to the table. Each guest will have a seat and be assigned to a particular table. Typically, 3 courses are served: first course, entrée, and your dessert. An open bar and wine served at the table is included. Cocktail hour precedes the dinner with optional passed or placed food items.

Buffet Cocktail

Buffet Cocktail events are for those that desire a less structured, less formal, and less traditional event. It is a wonderful way to entertain for those who want a more “party” atmosphere. This reception provides a variety of foods and generally consists of two heavier items such as cocktail sandwiches with a balance of hot and cold heavy hors d’oeuvres. The meal is substantial enough to be dinner, but all items are of the finger food variety, with no utensils needed. The buffet is ready and available to your guests upon arrival and allows your guests to mix and mingle freely and eat when ready. This style of event does not provide seating.

Family Style

Family-style events are for those that desire some structure but in a more casual, relaxing, and interactive atmosphere. Family Style events are similar to seated events, but food items are placed on each table by servers using platters to be shared. Guests serve themselves. There is usually a first course served before dinner and dessert after. Wine can be served or placed on the tables. Each guest will have a seat and be assigned to a particular table. Cocktail hour precedes the dinner with optional passed or placed food items. Family Style meals are only possible at specific locations when guests are seated at rectangular tables.

Food Station

Food Station events are for those that desire a little more interaction between guests and event staff. Food Station events are similar to buffet cocktail events, but food items are spread out among different “stations” throughout the reception space. Each station often requires a chef or attendant. The different stations offer different foods usually by category. Stations are a good way to incorporate a theme into your event. The buffet is ready and available to your guests upon arrival and allows your guests to mix and mingle freely and eat when ready. This style of event does not provide seating.
